Mexican finance minister, a holdover from previous administration, resigns and is replaced by deputy

Here’s a glance at what happened: there was Rogelio Ramírez de la O who took care of financial matters in Mexico since July last year. Mr. O got the job when everyone was worried because of the illness that spread everywhere – you know, COVID-19. The person who chose him for the job was the President at that time, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Ramírez de la O had to make sure that people in other countries didn’t get upset about money and to help Mexico not owe so much. The old President liked to spend a lot on important things he wanted to do. Then, a new President, Claudia Sheinbaum, won the election, and the man in charge of money said he would stay for a bit to help her out and make things easier.

But it turns out he’s leaving because of his own reasons. President Sheinbaum shared a video and said that now Ramírez de la O will give advice about financial matters in the world, but won’t be the main person in charge of money anymore. Edgar Amador Zamora, who was the number two in the money work, will take over. There was some trouble because the USA’s President, Donald Trump, kept saying he would make Mexico pay more to sell items in the USA, which made everyone, essentially, worried about money..
